Music

I discovered music in the late 60s.  I developed an interest for playing the drums and before long myself and a couple of my friends in the neighborhood started a band.

The first album I bought was Blue Cheer's Vincebus Eruptum.  Influences in these days were Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Yes, The Who, The Beatles, Allman Brothers, Frank Zappa, etc.  In high school our band became the rhythm section of the high school stage band.  In the 70s I was a big jazz fan - especially fusion including artists such as Chick Corea and the Mahavishnu Orchestra.  In the 80s I rekindled my love for rock with bands like the Police and Genesis.  While living in Europe in the late 80s I developed a taste for so-called World Music.  I also developed a passion for Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel and similar artists.  To see a list of artists that I currently listen too click here.

In the late 90s I started playing the drums again after a 20+ year hiatus  - this has also proven to be a great way to unwind from the stress of reality! I own the Ludwig kit above as well as a set of Roland V-Drums.

Today I love the wide diversity of music that has become available and listen to just about anything.  Most recently I have re-discovered Jazz through my soulmate Sally, We recently spent a week cruising in the Caribbean listening to 9 world class smooth jazz artists.
